snake not hungry should i wait a couple hours?

I was trying too feed my ball python, just a while ago (we can't buy live rats in my province- so i had to use a dead one and play with it in front of his face) so, if I gave him a couple hours would he it it than, or should I just throw the rat out and wait a couple more weeks. We usually fed him smaller rats, until recently, we have been moving on too bigger sized ones, could he still be full from the last one (2 weeks ago)
