Do you shiny hunt for Pokemon, what's your longest hunt?

I'm just curious what your longest hunt was/is? As in the number of soft resets or encounters? Not like actual days or weeks. I'm asking because I'm currently shiny hunting and am at 21246 encounters (7082 SR's) for a shiny starter in pokemon SS.
