Greek mythology where the mother dies shortly after child birth?

I am doing so research and I need to find out if there is a Greek (not roman) mythology where the mother was sick during pregnancy births a son and dies shortly after due to the illness. It seems so familiar I just can’t seem o remember it so if anyone knows, if you could please help me out a story like hat or extremely similar. I am doing research over a story with many Greek references and this statement was made " The boy is not strong, for one thing. I happen to know that he was born in Colorado, only a few months before his mother died out there of a long illness. There is something wrong about the fellow."
