Can I create a new email address for college?

When applying for colleges, you have to give them an email address. My normal email is for a bunch of online accounts and other things. I don't check it too often. If I had a new one specifically for colleges, I'd check it everyday. I just want to know if they would be okay with me giving them that email, or would they want my regular one? Thanks!
