How do I get my Drivers Licence in NC?

So I am 17, almost 18 and I have never taken drivers ED. If I want to get my licence at 18, how could I do that? Do I have to take drivers ed still? And do I have to be 18 if I graduate high school at 17? Someone told me I could possibly just give my info about being graduated to get it. I don't really know how it all works. Could someone please inform me how it works? Thanks.
