Muscle Relaxant for Stroke Victims?

Hey, I'm a major stroke victim who suffers from tight crampy muscles on occasion (mainly from stress) I've been interested in taking a muscle relaxant to them help loosen them up. Does anyone have experience using them? Could you recommend any specific brands? I've heard that most of them make you sleepy, i'm trying to avoid this as I need to feel awake and alert during the day. Thank you
