Should I get a stud in my ear?

I've been wondering, some people say it will suit me depending on the colour, my parenrs are like noooooooooooo, but meh they wont really do anything about it, I just wanna ask if any one would recommend in general wearing a stud in your ear?? Thanks in Advance =D
