How can I sell my used broken laptop?

My laptop works perfectly, its just the screen that doesn't work. Its an HP Pavillion Dv6. I wanna either: fix the screen and sell it. Or sell it for a cheaper price but with the screen broken. The screen needs full replacement. And another question: if I take out my hard drive to retrieve my files and put them on a USB or something. Can I wipe out the hard drive after that and put it back in? Or am I gonna have to put a new hard drive in before I sell it? Thanks.
