Why is masturbation frowned upon in most religions?

I'm wondering why it is so bad? You're not hurting anyone, you're not getting a bunch of girls pregnant. Why is it bad? Give me your answers on whether or not it is ok or not with reasons. I believe it is fine, great in fact! People deserve to release some stress once in a while, or night. xD
