My iFrogz headphones (Luxe with Mic) don't work well with my computer?

I bought a pair of Luxe headphones earlier, iFrogz' Luxe with Mic (NOT the microbuds model, apparently), and they work fine with my (non-Apple) mp3 player, but when I got home to use them on my laptop they don't work properly. The mic recognizes pretty ok, but the headphones are faint and practically silent in one ear. They ARE working, as stated, they work fine in my mp3 player. Is there any way I can fix this? I've tried disabling the microphone via the Control Panel while using them and no dice.
