Question #7199980

Can a person born in Israel have an objective view of Palestine?

I want to use two users as examples. I think Yotam and Itay are reasonable people but I don't think they have a realistic understanding of the Palestinian side of the debate. For no other reason than I think they have been exposed to the Zionist argument for a couple of decades but have not had a chance to learn what Palestinians see as the real history and current situation. Do you agree that an Israeli pretty well has to leave Israel for a few years and see Israel from a foreign perspective in order to see Israel realistically? Or could an Israeli Jew live in Gaza or the West Bank with a Palestinian family for a month and experience what it feels like to be a Palestinian and learn that way? Pure opinion in this case - say what you want.
