can you break a swimming record without being in the specific event?

if you are in a 4x100 freestyle relay mens, and you are the first swimmer, lets say the record is 30seconds for 100m freestyle, if you swim your part of that 4x 100m relay in under 30 seconds, does it count as a record for 100m freestyle??
