How do I upload a profile picture on Facebook without it showing up on my friends' newsfeeds?

I want to make one photo of me my profile photo, but I don't want it to be announced on the newsfeed. I've tried removing the post from my timeline before, but my friends still see it on their homepage--I get likes, comments. I don't want that. I just want it to show up as my profile photo WITHOUT a post announcing it. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!!
