Why can't the GOP see that they're already finished on the national level?

Ohio, Florida, Virginia, New Mexico, Iowa, Colorado, and New Hampshire all went for Bush in '04. They all went for Obama in 2008 and 2012. Now, with current projections and polls coming out of Texas, Georgia, and Arizona, these states could be in play as battleground states as early as 2016 or 2020. Why won't Republicans accept that something is wrong with their ideology and learn from their mistakes with minorities?
