What age would you/ did you let your teen date?

I'm going to be a freshman in the fall, and my mother is telling me that I'm not allowed to date in high school. I just wanted to get input from parents besides my mom. ( I know that my mom didn't date in high school, because she went to an all girls high school, that she unfortunately wants me to go to.)
