How do you start a date and end it?

i mean i dont have drivers licence and she is like 1.5 or 0.7 mile away ...and the place where we will meet is like 9 miles away ...should i meet her somewhere there or should we take a cab together ? and in the end i m thinking the only way home is a cab so should we take the same cab ? do i have to leave first under the pretence of having other plans :D
