Question #7800026

Could my daughter's thumb be dislocated if she has no pain?

Hi - my daughter was straining to open a tight jar-lid ar a few minutes ago and in doing so the thumb joint nearest the "web" of her hand (the metacarpophalangeal joint) popped. She has no pain, but is quite distressed that the thumb feels "weird" and pops with any movement, even very slight. She tends to be a bit dramatic about medical stuff, so I'm trying to determine if this warrants a trip to the urgent care clinic. Does anyone have insight as to what may be going on here? Thanks!
