What does it mean when guy starts to act like this?

We were introduced and have been emailing for some months (long distance). Have hungout in past and parents met too. During may, our moms were chatting. His mom said his colleagues want to introduce him to girls. But he still contacts and welcomes me to visit. And so we continue to keep in touch but I feel like he gives off mixed signals sometimes. Recently, he said his mom will visit my city (for other reasons too) and they wonder if my family and I would like anything. What does it mean when guy starts to act like this?
