What type of housing is better for a single woman?

I'm planning on buying my first home soon and I'm looking at townhouses, single-family homes, and condos. I'm a single woman in my mid twenties. Safety is one of my top priorities everything else is negotiable so I'm wondering which type of house is the safest for a single woman.
