What is another city like Pasadena that has everything to raise a family in Los Angeles?

Particular emphasis on Los Angeles county, but it can be anywhere in Southern California with this decription: Good schools (public or private), good/safe neighborhoods, activities for kids and teenagers, diverse, it also wouldn't hurt if there's also an artsy/cultural scene but that's optional. :)
