Do Indians don't respect their armed forces and their soldiers anymore?

Keeping the recent killing of Indian soldiers in mind by the pakistan army, I wonder do we respect our soldiers..??....I heard a minister say soldiers are supposed to die, well as far as I know Indian Armed force, have fought wars and have been a part of both the world wars and almost all UN ops......so it is a respected army, but why don't we as Indians don't have the regard..??
